A former British tennis champion, Annabel Croft retired from professional tennis at the age of twenty-one. Her charm and entertaining playing style made her a favorite with crowds, both at live tennis events and on television. Immediately following her retirement, Annabel developed, and continues to enjoy, long term relationships with many of the leading broadcasters' tennis output, both as an anchor, tennis reporter and as an all around sports correspondent.
Annabel has developed a successful career in media, initially as the glamorous face of popular British programs such as Treasure Hunt and Interceptor. In recent years she has used her vast experience on the tennis circuit to contribute to broadcast coverage of the sport. She recently took part in a new series for BBC1, Filthy Rich and Homeless, where she lived homeless on the streets of London for 9 days.
Annabel has also hosted her own television series, The Flying Picnic, for Granada and Sky Travel. Travelling around in an original DeHavilland Moth plane, she collected ingredients from around Britain to recreate the famous household guru's ‘Mrs Beeton's Picnic for Forty' which since airing has received record viewer ratings. Tapping into her passion of healthy and fun eating and cooking for family and friends, The Flying Picnic saw Annabel celebrate the quality of food Britain has to offer.
Annabel continues to play an integral role in the coverage of Wimbledon for the BBC, Radio 5 Live and GMTV and keeps her involvement in the game at the highest level both on and off screen. She is also a key member of International Eurosport's coverage of the French and Australian Opens and Sky's coverage of the US Open. In 2009 Annabel and her husband Mel launched the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy at the National Tennis Centre in London.
Most recently, Annabel hosted the prestigious Laureus Awards with Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow in Abu Dhabi. She is a frequent speaker at corporate and hospitality events as well as educational forums.
