Cam Newton has blown away expectations during his first season in the NFL. His natural gifts and commitment to success make him a tenacious force on the field.

Drafted in 2011 by the Carolina Panthers, he is the first reigning Heisman Trophy winner to go first overall since Carson Palmer in 2003. Newton set an NFL record for touchdowns rushing in a season by a quarterback with 14, and became the first player in league history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 500. He helped Carolina improve from 2-14 to 6-10 in one season, throwing for 21 touchdowns.

He was awarded the 2011 Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year and was selected to the 2011 Pro Bowl.

Cam Newton is the first player in 60 years to win the Heisman Trophy, a National Championship, and be the No. 1 overall draft pick in the same academic year.

Following an impressive year at Auburn University in 2010, Cam took home every major post-season award. He was also honored by the House of Representatives as “the most outstanding college football player in the United States.”

In 2010 he received the following awards:

-2010 SEC Offensive Player of the Year
-2010 Heisman Trophy Winner
-2010 Davey O’Brien Award
-2010 AP Player of the Year
-2010 Maxwell Award
-2010 Walter Camp Award

Off the field, Cam has hosted several charitable events focused on children’s needs and has plans to continue giving back to the community.
